The Xicots de Vilafranca showcased their growth in Barcelona with an all-female pilar de cinc and several seven-level 'castells', while preparing for their first 4d8 of the season.

The 'casteller' group Xicots de Vilafranca demonstrated their progress during the anniversary celebration of the Esquerdats, held at Parc Joan Miró in Barcelona. The performance, which also featured the participation of Castellers de Terrassa, highlighted the consolidation of the Penedès-based group's seven-level range.
The red-shirted group began their performance with two simultaneous pilars de quatre. Subsequently, they successfully completed a solid 3d7, followed by an impeccable 5d7, the highest-value 'castell' of the day for them. They concluded the 'castell' rounds with a competent 4d7. These constructions included several new members at the top ('pom de dalt') and on the trunk levels, indicating the group's strong renewal.
The most emotional moment arrived during the pillar round, when the Xicots raised an all-female pilar de cinc, a feat that was widely applauded and underscores the role of women in the 'colla'. The performance ended with two additional pilars de quatre.
With this performance under their belt, the group is now fully focused on the upcoming sponsorship event for La Bisbal del Penedès next Saturday. The main objective is to attempt to complete their first 4d8 of the season. To achieve this ambitious goal, the Xicots are calling for active participation in the crucial rehearsals this week at their headquarters in Cal Noi Noi.
