Esquerra Republicana deputy secretary general Oriol López i Mayolas criticized the state of the Rodalies commuter rail network this March, citing chronic underinvestment by the Spanish State.

The Catalan Parliament member stated that frequent delays and cancellations are not accidents but the result of poor planning. This situation forces more cars onto the roads in Barcelona, leading to increased pollution and travel times for students and workers.

"People need solutions, not excuses; they need trains that work, not eternally postponed promises."

ERC is advocating for the orbital train, a strategic line designed to connect cities like Sabadell, Mollet, and Mataró directly. The party insists that transferring full management of the rail system to the Generalitat is essential for a reliable public service.
