The ERC municipal group in Barcelona reported this February constant power supply interruptions affecting several neighborhoods, with a significant impact on la Prosperitat and Torre Baró.

The political group will bring the issue to the Economy and Finance commission. Areas including Raval, Vila de Gràcia, and Sant Andreu are reportedly suffering from outages that councilor Jordi Castellana describes as a chronic failure of a basic service.

"The outages are not a minor inconvenience; they put people's health at risk, especially the elderly or dependent individuals."

The crisis in la Prosperitat stems from a transformer fire in September 2025. While Endesa cites technical difficulties in replacing the equipment, the Barcelona City Council claims there is no evidence of a city-wide increase in electrical incidents.
