The ERC municipal group in Barcelona will formally request that Jaume Collboni's government purchase the building housing Metzineres, a key support center for vulnerable women in the Raval district.

The motion will be presented to the Social Rights Commission following reports that the landlord of the property at 3 Lluna Street refuses to renew the lease. ERC warns that the owner intends to sell the entire building, threatening the future of the social initiative.

"This situation poses an imminent risk to the continuity of a key space in addressing gender-based violence and severe social exclusion in the city."

The Metzineres project provides essential free services, including food, showers, and social counseling. ERC argues that the center's deep roots in the Raval neighborhood are crucial for maintaining the trust and safety of the women it serves.
