The massive success of Roblox in Barcelona and globally has raised serious concerns among experts regarding sexual predators and addictive mechanics affecting children as young as 6 years old.

With 144 million daily users, Roblox faces criticism for its lack of effective age verification. Experts from the Open University of Catalonia (UOC) state that the platform's social design allows adults to easily impersonate minors to solicit explicit images or personal data.

"Roblox is structurally unsafe for children due to its social design and the absence of solid profile review systems."

The Mossos d'Esquadra Cybercrime Unit warns that victims are increasingly younger. Predators often use Robux, the in-game currency, as bait to build trust before moving conversations to encrypted apps like Telegram or WhatsApp.
Beyond grooming, the Spanish Association of Pediatrics (AEP) highlights mental health concerns. The game's reward system mimics slot machines, triggering dopamine releases that can lead to addictive behaviors in developing brains.
