The alert for the incident was received around 3:20 PM this Wednesday. The rescue service deployed approximately fifteen units to extinguish the flames. The affected building has been completely evacuated, and according to official information, there are no reports of injuries.
Initial reports suggest the fire began outdoors, specifically in a small structure attached to the animal area, and subsequently spread to a section of the building's interior, housing laboratories. The second floor of the facility sustained significant damage.
The center's staff had already self-evacuated before the firefighters arrived. The incident generated a dense column of smoke visible from major roads such as the AP-7 and C-58, prompting alerts on social media.
