Firefighters from the Generalitat have been working this Wednesday to extinguish a fire that broke out on the exterior of an annex building at the IRTA research center, located at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), in Cerdanyola del Vallès.

The blaze began outside the property, specifically in a small structure attached to the IRTA CReSA facilities, and subsequently affected part of the interior premises.
Personnel inside the building at the time of the incident were evacuated as a precaution. No injuries have been reported.
Fifteen fire crews were dispatched to the scene and have successfully brought the fire under control.
