Members of the Global Sumud Flotilla have returned to Barcelona this Saturday, alleging they suffered torture by Israeli authorities during their detention.

Activists from the Global Sumud Flotilla, previously detained by the Israeli government, arrived at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-el Prat airport this midday. Upon their arrival, they publicly denounced having suffered torture by Israeli authorities. Activist Mi Hoa Lee described her stay in Israeli facilities as akin to entering "the tunnel of terror, of torture," according to statements reported by ACN.
The activists arrived in Barcelona on two flights from Ankara, where they were welcomed at Terminal 2 with chants of "Long live the struggle of the Palestinian people." They stated that in the Israeli prison, they were subjected to "torture" after being intercepted on May 19th. Mi Hoa Lee recounted witnessing a colleague being locked in a room where a dog bit her.
The former mayor of Montcada i Reixac, Laura Campos, one of the detained individuals, stated that the activists suffered acts of "police brutality" by Israel. "Many colleagues sustained injuries, and a compilation of each and every one is being made," she affirmed.
Minister of Culture, Ernest Urtasun, extended a "warm welcome" to the flotilla members, noting that they "have put their body and soul into continuing to denounce the genocide in Palestine." Urtasun strongly criticized the Israeli government, calling the detention of the activists an "act of piracy" and denouncing the interception of ships sailing freely in the Mediterranean under humanitarian law, carrying food and medical supplies to Gaza.
