The Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) has hosted a Turkish delegation to explore new avenues for collaboration in health research and innovation, as part of a European project.

The Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) recently hosted a delegation of research entities, universities, and innovation ecosystem agents from Turkey. The event focused on fostering contact between institutions and exploring new collaboration opportunities in the health sector.
This meeting is part of a technical mission to Spain, within the framework of the "Technical Assistance for Türkiye in Horizon Europe" project. This project, co-financed by the European Union and the Republic of Turkey, supports TÜBİTAK (Turkey's Scientific and Technological Research Council) to strengthen the participation of Turkish research and innovation entities in Horizon Europe and facilitate connections with potential European partners.
IGTP's participation was facilitated by Leitat, a member of the project's consortium. It aligns with the Institute's internationalization strategy, aiming to connect research teams with common interests, identify potential synergies, and explore new avenues for international collaboration, particularly for future European projects and consortia.
The event served to connect the delegation with researchers and professionals from the IGTP, based on shared areas of interest and expertise. The program included presentations of the Institute's capabilities, networking sessions, and a visit to the facilities of the Centre for Comparative Medicine and Bioimaging of Catalonia (CMCiB).
Researchers and professionals from the IGTP presented their lines of work, exchanging ideas and interests with the Turkish participants. These meetings allowed for the identification of complementary fields and the evaluation of potential joint working areas, with a particular focus on future European calls and the establishment of new international consortia.
Delegation members also toured the CMCiB, a strategic project of the IGTP specializing in interdisciplinary research in comparative medicine, bioimaging, and preclinical models, gaining firsthand knowledge of its facilities and scientific capabilities.
