A fire that broke out this Tuesday in the northern Collserola area, near the Canyelles neighborhood, has prompted the confinement of residents in Torre Baró and Ciutat Meridiana as a precautionary measure.

The Firefighters of the Generalitat, supported by GRAF units, a helicopter, and two planes, are working intensely to control a forest fire that ignited in the Collserola area, specifically above the Alta de Roquetes road, heading towards Sant Cugat. Barcelona Firefighters are also participating.
As a preventive measure due to the fire's proximity, residents of the Torre Baró and Ciutat Meridiana neighborhoods have been ordered to remain indoors. According to witnesses interviewed by ARA, Guardia Urbana officers alerted people in the street to return home and close doors and windows, as the strong smell of burning and smoke were noticeable throughout the area.
The fire affects approximately 25 hectares of forest land within the Serra de Collserola Natural Park. Municipal sources indicate the fire started at 3:20 PM in a scrubland area. Despite a significant smoke column, authorities believe the fire is less severe than a similar incident in Collserola two weeks ago.
