A self-supporting and movable structure, similar to the one previously located in Plaça Comercial in El Born, is being installed. This system, known as Oasis shade, proved incompatible with the square's regular activities, leading to its relocation.
This section of Josep Tarradellas Avenue was chosen due to an underground car park that hinders the rooting of existing trees, resulting in a lack of natural shade. The new structure aims to address this issue.
During construction, the work will focus on the central part of the avenue. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times, and no significant traffic restrictions are anticipated on the roadway. The project is expected to be completed by July 29.
