Italian prosecutors ordered on Tuesday the intervention of Glovo's subsidiary in Italy for alleged labor exploitation, appointing a judicial administrator to oversee the Barcelona-based company's operations during the probe.

The Italian prosecution has ordered the intervention of Foodinho SRL, the Glovo subsidiary in Italy, due to suspected labor exploitation of delivery riders. A judicial administrator will manage the company as the investigation continues this February 10.
Among the main allegations, prosecutors state that the company, founded in Barcelona in 2014, allegedly paid wages below the poverty line. The probe also highlights constant app-based surveillance and twelve-hour daily shifts.

"The firm is working with the Italian authorities within the framework of the investigation."
