Last June became the period with the highest proportion of weather stations recording tropical nights in the last two decades across the Catalan territory.

According to data from the Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya, at 128 out of 184 control points, thermometers did not drop below 20 ºC at any time during at least one day. This figure represents 69.5% of the total, a thermal intensity only surpassed in 2003, when it reached 77%.
The heatwave was particularly persistent during the second half of the month, raising temperatures well above the usual climatic average. At the Observatori Fabra in Barcelona, the average temperature was 25.3 ºC, the third highest since records began.
Regarding torrid nights, where the mercury does not drop below 25 ºC, a historical record was reached with ten stations recording this phenomenon. In the Raval neighborhood of Barcelona, nine such nights were counted, while locations like Badalona, Mataró, or Montserrat also detected exceptional values.
Maximum temperatures were also notable, with 17% of stations exceeding 40 ºC. In Vilanova de Segrià, temperatures reached 43 ºC on June 22, while other towns such as Algerri, el Poal, or Vallfogona de Balaguer broke their own historical records for the month of June.
