The political party Junts has certified today that the four candidates aspiring to lead the municipal list in Barcelona have secured the required support from the membership. The aspirants are Jordi Martí Galbis, Pilar Calvo, Glòria Freixa, and Jaume Alonso-Cuevillas.
The internal campaign to elect the candidate will commence on Saturday, June 13, and will extend until Friday, June 19. Voting will take place over the weekend of June 20 and 21, with the final result expected to be announced on the same Sunday.
Among the aspirants, Jordi Martí Galbis, the current leader of Junts in the city council, was the first to achieve the necessary 20% of endorsements in just 48 hours. Shortly after, congresswoman Pilar Calvo also met this requirement.
Subsequently, lawyer and former deputy Jaume Alonso-Cuevillas and parliament member and first secretary of the bureau, Glòria Freixa, joined the list of qualified aspirants.
