The La Mercè Race 2026, one of Barcelona's most iconic sporting events, has opened registrations for its upcoming edition on Sunday, September 20th. This year, the number of available bibs has been increased to 17,200.

The La Mercè Bimbo Global Race 2026 has begun its registration period for all those wishing to participate next Sunday, September 20th. This race, part of the Festes de la Mercè program, expects to gather thousands of runners in the city's streets. The organization has decided to increase capacity to 17,200 bibs, a 16% rise from the previous year, responding to growing demand.
According to organizers, the increase in bibs solidifies the race as one of Catalonia's most prominent popular running events. Sports Councilor David Escudé highlighted that "running is fashionable in Barcelona" and that the race continues to grow to offer thousands of athletes the chance to participate in a key event of the Festa Major.
Registrations can now be made through the official website of the La Mercè Bimbo Global Race 2026. The event offers various categories to suit different profiles: a 10 km race through the city center, a 2 km inclusive race for individuals with reduced mobility, and a family race designed for enjoyment with children.
In this edition, all proceeds from registrations will be donated to Clowns Without Borders, a non-profit humanitarian organization founded in Barcelona. This organization works to improve the emotional well-being of children who are refugees or displaced due to conflicts or natural disasters, maintaining a strong connection with the city.
