The Ronda de Dalt highway recovers from this Tuesday, August 25, the slow lane between exits 5 and 6 in both directions, which had been closed since the 3rd due to covering works. With this reopening, all three lanes per direction will be fully operational. This closure was necessary for tasks related to the installations of the future tunnel, which is now partially covered after the placement of 56 out of 101 pieces of the new roof.
The reduction of one lane per direction over the past three weeks has allowed for the optimization of work and resources, avoiding a significant portion of the installation and removal tasks. Moving forward, installation work will continue over the coming months, with a speed limit of 40 km/h and night closures in the central section of the affected stretch.
The covering works on the Ronda de Dalt between Avinguda de Vallcarca and IES Vall d'Hebron began in June 2024. This intervention, adding 340 meters of new cover to the 200 already completed, will create a new public space for citizen use and green areas, benefiting residents of Sant Genís dels Agudells and La Teixonera.
This project, considered a priority by the Government team, addresses a long-standing citizen demand and is part of a city-wide agreement to transform this road infrastructure and its surroundings. The estimated investment for the structural works is around 12 million euros, with an additional 20 million euros for the tunnel's covering, installations, and finishes.
