Starting this Monday, August 3, and until the 24th, a section of the Ronda de Dalt, between exits 5 and 6, will have two lanes per direction due to the closure of the slow lane in each direction. This measure will optimize resources and the pace of the covering works, which are being carried out between IES Vall d'Hebron and Avinguda Vallcarca.
The work now focuses on installations for cabling, security, ventilation, and lighting, coinciding with the completion of the placement of 56 out of 101 pieces for the new Ronda de Dalt roof. The usual nightly closures, from Sunday to Thursday since July 20, will end on August 6, coinciding with four days where nightly closures will overlap with the slow lane occupation.
The reduction of one lane per direction for three weeks aims to minimize future nightly closures and optimize the implementation and removal tasks of the work. The coverage of this section is expected to be completed by the end of 2027.
This phase of the works, which began in June 2024, will extend the existing coverage between the Mercat de la Vall d'Hebron and the institute, creating new public and green space. The intervention responds to a long-standing citizen demand and a city-wide agreement to transform this road infrastructure and its surroundings.
The estimated investment for the structural works is around 12 million euros, to which approximately 20 million euros will be added for the tunnel's covering, installations, and finishes.
