The council of L’Hospitalet has agreed on preventive recommendations for citizens in anticipation of heavy rains expected on Wednesday, September 9th. These measures were decided after a CECOPAL meeting, chaired by Mayor David Quirós, to analyze the situation and establish appropriate actions.
Although L’Hospitalet, part of the Barcelonès region, is not directly affected by the Generalitat's restrictions in other counties like Baix Llobregat, citizens are urged to act with utmost caution. It is recommended to avoid non-essential travel, prioritize teleworking if possible, and postpone outdoor activities or non-urgent medical appointments.
Emphasis is placed on avoiding flood-prone areas and following the guidance of emergency services and Civil Protection. The Generalitat has implemented measures for five affected counties (Alt Penedès, Baix Llobregat, Baix Penedès, Garraf, and Vallès Occidental), including the suspension of non-urgent educational, sports, and social activities, although schools in L’Hospitalet will continue to operate normally.
As a preventive measure, the City Council has also facilitated teleworking for municipal staff who can do so, aiming to minimize travel and enhance preventive measures within the city.
