Bus drivers in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat have secured a preliminary legal victory after a judge ruled that Moventis failed to justify unilateral changes to their working schedules and holidays.

The ruling mandates that the company, Marfina Bus, must restore the conditions that existed prior to January 7, 2025. The court found that the company's decision to move from a Monday-to-Friday schedule to a rotating seven-day week lacked sufficient evidence of operational necessity, describing the company's arguments as perceptions rather than facts.

"It is a first victory against a multinational, although not everything is won yet."

The company is currently reviewing the sentence and may appeal to the High Court of Justice of Catalonia. This legal dispute follows months of strikes and service complaints in L'Hospitalet, which have already resulted in fines totaling 325,000 euros imposed by the Barcelona Metropolitan Area.
