Kenyan runner Loice Chemnung made history in Barcelona this Sunday by breaking the women's course record, while Ethiopia's Hagos Gebrhiwet claimed victory in the men's elite category.

The Barcelona Half Marathon witnessed an extraordinary performance by Loice Chemnung, who finished with a time of 1:04:01. This mark sets a new record for the event and represents a significant improvement on her previous personal best by nearly two minutes.
In the men's race, Hagos Gebrhiwet showed his dominance early on, breaking away from the lead group before the 5km mark. Despite his efforts to challenge the world record, the Ethiopian finished in 58:05, failing to drop below the 58-minute barrier on the Avinguda Litoral stretch.
Swiss athlete Dominic Lobalu finished in second place with a time of 59:26. Although he aimed to break the European record currently held by Andreas Almgren, he fell short of the 58:41 target during the final stages of the race.
