Humorous choral groups known as Cors Muts have taken over the streets of Barceloneta and Raval to celebrate their annual festival, coinciding with the long weekend of the second Easter holiday.

Approximately twenty groups participated in a parade that highlighted the maritime and working-class history of these emblematic Barcelona neighborhoods. As is customary, participants displayed wooden elements and musical instruments evoking the area's past.
The tradition of the Cors Muts, historically composed entirely of men, has evolved over the years. Currently, some groups exclusively include women, reflecting an adaptation to modern times while preserving the festive spirit.

"There is a lot of nostalgia and many memories here. I have been participating for 50 years."

"I was carried out by my father. Before him, my father, my grandfather... It's the most deeply rooted tradition in the neighborhood you can find."

The festival, passed down from generation to generation, remains a fundamental pillar of the neighborhoods' identity. The celebration will continue late into the night, with a second parade scheduled for Monday, May 25th, following the same route and featuring fire performances.
