'Los domingos' and 'Sirât' Sweep the 40th Goya Awards in Barcelona

The film Los domingos emerged as the big winner at the 40th Goya Awards held in Barcelona, marking a historic night for Spanish cinema at the CCIB venue.

Director Alauda Ruiz de Azúa secured the Best Director award for Los domingos, which also took home the Best Picture trophy. The acting categories saw Patricia López Arnaiz and Jose Ramón Soroiz winning the top honors for their roles in Los domingos and Maspalomas.
The technical powerhouse of the evening was Sirât, winning six awards including Best Editing and Best Production Supervision. Additionally, Albert Serra won Best Documentary for Tardes de soledad, highlighting the strength of contemporary non-fiction filmmaking in Spain.
