Bicycle thefts in Barcelona increase fivefold in one year
The rise in thefts is causing many users to abandon the bicycle as their regular means of transport.

Reports of bicycle thefts in Barcelona rose from 221 to 1,046 between 2024 and 2025, according to data from the Mossos d'Esquadra released by the Bicicleta Club de Catalunya.
