A large-scale police operation in Barcelona targeting firearms trafficking has concluded with 13 individuals arrested and 15 others reported for drug or weapon possession.

The operation, involving approximately 150 officers from the Mossos d'Esquadra, the Barcelona Urban Guard, the National Police, and private security personnel, took place this Friday between 2:00 PM and 10:00 PM.
The raid specifically targeted neighborhoods such as Sants-Zona Franca, Nou Barris, Sant Andreu, and Sant Martí, along with other areas of the Catalan capital, including Carrer Balmes. These actions are a response to the need to combat the proliferation of firearms following recent shootings in the city.
Among those arrested, nine individuals have a combined total of 93 prior criminal records. Additionally, one person is being investigated for violating a court order. The administrative reports were primarily issued for the possession of narcotic substances or items considered weapons.
