The march, called by groups such as the Coalition Enough Complicity with Israel and the Palestinian Community of Catalonia, started around 12 noon at the Jardins de Gràcia and ended at Plaça Catalunya. The Guardia Urbana estimated attendance at 1,200 people, while the organizers reported 5,000 demonstrators.
“"We demand the arms embargo, the end of all relations with the genocidal state of Israel, and the liberation of all Palestinian prisoners from Israeli prisons."
The protest in the Catalan capital is part of a day of mobilizations that took place simultaneously in about forty cities across the State. This action follows the 'Concierto-manifiesto x Palestina', which gathered thousands of people at the Palau Sant Jordi just days earlier.
During the route, upon reaching the main headquarters of the European Commission representation in Barcelona, a letter from the imprisoned Palestinian activist, Marwan Barghouti, was read. Participants also criticized political inaction and the presence of companies from Israel at congresses such as the ISE or the Mobile World Congress.
“"We do not just want words; we want action now from our governments."
