The exhibition, open from September 26 to December 24, 2026, offers insight into the artistic practice of Lawton, who lives and works in Barcelona. Born in Sheffield (UK), Lawton is recognized as an artist, writer, and professor.
Lawton's career includes artistic residencies at institutions such as La Escocesa, Hangar.org, and the Centre d’Estudis i Documentació del MACBA. His work has previously been exhibited at the Sala Gran de La Capella as part of BCN Producció 2023-2024, as well as in solo shows at Ana Mas Projects and the Centre d’Art Maristany.
As a writer, he has published texts in renowned publications such as The Journal of Contemporary Painting, The Happy Hypocrite, and Antennae. His artistic practice focuses on abstraction and narration, with a particular interest in the connection between the literary and visual realms, how to write about painting, and the integration of texts within exhibition spaces.
