Smoke plume visible from Barcelona due to a fire on Montjuïc.

A vegetation fire on Montjuïc mountain, in Barcelona, forced the evacuation of the castle and the suspension of the cable car service as a precautionary measure on Sunday afternoon.

The blaze, which started around five in the afternoon in some bushes near the Camí del Far, caused no personal injuries. The Bombers de la Generalitat brought the flames under control shortly before eight in the evening.
The area affected by the fire was difficult to access, complicating firefighting efforts. The operation involved four fire engines, three command vehicles, an ambulance, and drones, in addition to support from a Bombers helicopter.
The large column of smoke generated by the fire was clearly visible from multiple points across the Catalan capital, and numerous citizens shared images of the incident on social media.
