A 54-year-old man died this Thursday in a workplace accident during the renovation of the Spotify Camp Nou, as reported by the Mossos d'Esquadra.

The incident occurred in the Les Corts district, where the worker reportedly suffered a fatal blow. The Mossos d'Esquadra from the Les Corts station received the accident alert around 3:30 PM. This is the first fatal victim since the renovation work on the Barcelona stadium began in June 2023.
Police units from the station, the Investigation Unit, and the Emergency Medical System (SEM) were dispatched to the scene but could not save the worker's life.
The police have informed the duty investigating court and the Department of Business and Labour of the incident, following the standard protocol for workplace accidents.
Thousands of workers have been involved in the renovation of the Spotify Camp Nou. The structure of the third tier has recently been completed, and work is now focused on a compression ring for the stadium's roof.
