The Biennial of Digital Arts is launched in Barcelona aiming to connect thought, artistic creation, and the professional sector, positioning the city as an international benchmark.

The Biennial of Digital Arts has been launched, a new cultural and creative platform driven by the Barcelona City Council, the Government of Catalonia, and the Barcelona Creativity & Design Foundation, with support from the Ministry of Culture. The initiative seeks to connect, showcase, and boost the digital art scene, aiming to establish Barcelona and Catalonia as international leaders in this field.
The biennial aims to foster co-production between local and international agents, generating new opportunities for production and visibility for the sector. Furthermore, it seeks to bring digital arts closer to the public, making Barcelona the epicenter of a project with reach to other parts of Catalonia.
The platform is founded on the belief that Barcelona is already an active and diverse hub for digital arts, with established initiatives such as the Sònar+D, OFFF, and Mira festivals, the Digital Impact exhibition, and the IDEAL Centre for Digital Arts.
Curated by Pep Salazar, the biennial will unfold between November 2026 and March 2027, with the Disseny Hub Barcelona (DHub) as its main venue. Activities will include the 'Vectors' exhibition, an international symposium, and 'Circuit', a professional meeting point.

"The initiative's aim is to become a stable international platform, in a biennial format, that fosters connection between thought, artistic practice, and the professional ecosystem to generate new opportunities for production, collaboration, and international visibility for the digital arts sector as a creative industry."
