The new incident at the Adif control center caused a day of chaos and delays exceeding 45 minutes at Sants station in Barcelona this Monday, affecting thousands of Rodalies and Mid-Distance travelers.

The atmosphere at Sants station was one of great confusion and tension. Although the screens and public address system continued to announce upcoming departures, the access doors to the platforms were closed for a time, preventing users from entering. This situation led to dozens of people accumulating while waiting, receiving contradictory messages about the status of a service that was operating unstably.

"I ask for reliability, if the train works, perfect, if not, they should put alternative measures in place, otherwise, we cannot make decisions."

User testimonies reflect the seriousness of the situation. One passenger, La Mar, waiting for the train bound for Reus, had to wait almost half an hour longer than scheduled. Another user, Laura Bataller, told TV3 that her train, which departed from Tarragona, was paralyzed in Sitges for hours. Even high-speed rail was affected: La Carolina, who was supposed to take the AVE from Girona to Barcelona, arrived an hour late.

"I don't understand very well what is happening. I just hope to arrive on time for the appointment I have at the consulate."

The confusion was aggravated by the chronology of the failures. After the service partially recovered at 7:05 am, the Renfe spokesperson, Antonio Carmona, announced the resolution of the technical incident at the Adif control center. However, just 10 minutes later, Renfe reported that the incident had recurred, suspending train circulation until 7:44 am, when circulation finally resumed.
