A severe windstorm in Catalonia on February 12 has resulted in nine hospitalizations, including one man in critical condition at Vall d'Hebron Hospital and another in very serious condition.

The most critical case involves a 46-year-old man injured by a collapsing roof. Other serious injuries were reported at Bellvitge Hospital and Trueta Hospital in Girona, mostly due to falling trees and debris. Civil Protection confirmed that a total of 86 people required medical assistance during the peak of the storm.

"The restrictions applied were justified and contributed to avoiding more serious incidents."
