The Nocturama bookstore will soon open in Plaça de la Revolució in Gràcia, Barcelona, after concluding its three-and-a-half-year journey in the Raval neighborhood due to economic challenges.

The bookstore's new location will occupy one of the premises that belonged to the historic Cáceres furniture store until December 31st. This move is welcomed by Gràcia residents, who recently lost the Ona bookstore and feared the square's shops would be taken over by generic businesses.
Marina Rodríguez, the founder with experience at Casa del Llibre, Finestres, and Ona, started Nocturama on Peu de la Creu street. Despite building a loyal community, the low profit margins in a low-income area made the business unsustainable, prompting the move to a busier district.

"I'm not going that far. It's only three metro stops away."

The relocation was made possible by a landlord in Gràcia who preferred a cultural business over higher-paying tenants. While Raval loses a symbol of local commerce, Gràcia celebrates the arrival of a new literary space amidst a surge of ice cream parlors.
