The arrival of the Tour de France in Barcelona, scheduled for July 4th and 5th, will cause considerable traffic alterations in several neighborhoods within the Sants-Montjuïc district. To address queries and provide detailed information on how the cyclists' routes will affect daily commutes, a technical information office for residents has been established.
This office offers in-person assistance every Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, at the Centre Cívic el Sortidor. Additionally, the service is available by phone at 93 151 76 06 and via email at atenciotour_santsmontjuic@bcn.cat, from Monday to Thursday during the same hours.
“"The objective of the office is to provide a direct and clear response in a context with a lot of information and two very different Tour stages."
The service, managed by the work center of the Fundació Esclerosi Múltiple, Femcet, is designed to handle both digital inquiries and assist individuals who prefer direct interaction, particularly the elderly. Although primarily for district residents, inquiries from other city areas have already been received.
The first stage, on July 4th, will be a time trial between the Fòrum and the Olympic Stadium, with limited impact on Sants-Montjuïc residents. The second stage, on July 5th, will have a greater effect as the Tour route will encircle neighborhoods such as Can Clos, el Polvorí, and el Poble-sec, also affecting Sants-Badal, Sants, and Hostafrancs as cyclists pass through carretera de Sants – Creu Coberta.
It is recommended to prioritize the use of the metro and the Montjuïc funicular, which will not be affected. For those using private vehicles, it is advised to leave before 12 PM and return after 8:30 PM on Saturday the 4th, and after 6 PM on Sunday the 5th. The use of underpasses and two temporary elevated crossings at Avinguda de l'Estadi and Carrer del Foc is also suggested. In case of emergency, contact 112.
