Approximately 16,000 candidates are summoned this weekend for competitive examinations to fill 1,325 public servant positions in the Generalitat de Catalunya, with decentralized tests in Barcelona, Girona, Lleida, and Tarragona.

A total of 15,795 candidates are facing the selective tests to fill 1,325 positions for public servants in the Generalitat de Catalunya. This call for applications, part of the Government's strategy to establish a regular schedule for selection processes, will take place in Barcelona, Girona, Lleida, and Tarragona.
The majority of the offered positions are for administrative roles, including the superior administration body (376 positions), the administrative body (366), the subordinate staff (228), and the administrative assistant (114). Technical and professional profiles in areas such as public health, veterinary services, and engineering are also included. Female participation accounts for 71.36% of the total applicants.
Barcelona will host the largest group of candidates, with 10,924 individuals, while Girona, Lleida, and Tarragona will accommodate 1,567, 1,534, and 1,770 applicants, respectively. The Generalitat has organized these examinations with the involvement of over 1,200 public employees.
Since 2024, the Government has maintained a consistent pace of recruitment drives, with selection processes held in late and early years. Successful candidates will be required to complete a mandatory course on digital competencies and public service values during the first quarter of 2027.
This examination round follows the memory of the organizational chaos that affected the extraordinary stabilization exams in April 2023, which experienced delays and logistical errors, leading to the cancellation and repetition of some tests and changes in the Public Function department's leadership.
