FC Barcelona midfielder Patri Guijarro has been diagnosed with a right ankle sprain, ruling her out of the Catalan league derby but keeping her on the roster for the Champions League semifinals.

Medical tests conducted at Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper have confirmed Guijarro's injury, an anterior talofibular ligament sprain in her right ankle. This condition had already forced her to leave the Spanish national team's training camp, which is set to face Ukraine in the qualification phase for the 2027 World Cup.
The Balearic player was injured during the match played last Tuesday at Wembley, where Spain lost 1-0 to England. Guijarro had to be substituted in the 81st minute after a collision with Alessia Russo that caused her ankle to twist.
Despite initial concerns, which even cast doubt on her participation in the Champions League semifinals, the blaugrana club's medical services have eased fears. Thus, the Mallorcan midfielder will be available for the European knockout tie, which begins on April 25 in Munich.
However, Patri Guijarro will not be able to participate in the Catalan league derby against RCD Espanyol, scheduled for Wednesday, April 22, at 7 PM at Ciutat Esportiva Dani Jarque. In this match, FC Barcelona could mathematically secure their eleventh league title.
