The Guardia Urbana de L'Hospitalet, supported by the Mossos d'Esquadra and the National Police, conducted inspections last week at three scrap yards in the city to combat the sale of stolen material and regulatory breaches.

The operation was carried out under Plan Nautilus, an initiative aimed at ensuring compliance with regulations in these types of establishments and preventing illicit trafficking. This joint and coordinated action allowed for simultaneous controls across the three establishments in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat.
Following the inspections, several complaints were filed for various reasons, including lack of operating licenses and failure to report waste management, in addition to other legal breaches detected.
The most significant finding was the immobilization of over 1,000 kilograms of copper cable. This material was confiscated due to its unknown origin, a fact suggesting potential links to theft, particularly from public infrastructure.
