The Mossos d'Esquadra police force arrested a man in Ripollet on February 11 for attempting to sell a stolen accordion worth 5,000 euros that disappeared from a Barcelona train in late January.

The investigation began after the owner reported the theft in Reus. The victim had boarded a regional train at Passeig de Gràcia station on January 28. Detectives later identified the unique instrument being advertised on a popular second-hand marketplace application.
The suspect claimed he found the accordion abandoned in a bin and had recently sent it to a relative in France. Due to the lack of evidence regarding the initial theft, he was charged with receiving stolen goods rather than robbery.
According to police sources, the accordion is an extremely rare piece, one of only five of its kind in Spain. The individual has been released from custody pending a court appearance.
