The Chinese retail giant Pop Mart launched its largest store in Barcelona this Wednesday, March 11, opening a 140-square-meter space on Diagonal Avenue dedicated to the Labubu collectible phenomenon.

Located at Diagonal 609 within the El Dau building, the store occupies the site of the former Pedralbes Centre. This two-story flagship marks the brand's third location in the city, designed to offer an immersive experience for fans of designer toys and limited editions.
The store's main attraction is the Labubu characters, created by artist Kasing Lung for The Monsters series. These quirky, monster-like figures have become highly sought-after items within Asian pop culture circles, appealing to both children and adult collectors.
A key driver of the brand's popularity is the 'blind box' sales model, where customers purchase a sealed box without knowing which character is inside. This element of surprise has fostered a vibrant community of fans who trade figures and hunt for rare editions of characters like Molly, Hirono, and Skullpanda.
Since its founding in Beijing in 2010, Pop Mart has rapidly expanded globally. This new opening confirms Barcelona as a primary hub for the company's European growth, following previous successful launches that drew massive crowds to the city's streets.
