The Assemblea Nacional Catalana and the Consell de la República have called a demonstration in Barcelona on Saturday, February 7 to denounce the deterioration of public services, using the Rodalies collapse as a catalyst.

The pro-independence entities are once again opting for street mobilization, capitalizing on the social unrest generated by severe railway incidents across Catalonia. The protest, formally against the deterioration of basic services, is directed at the Govern, which they hold responsible for the mismanagement of key infrastructure like Rodalies.
The call by the ANC and the Consell de la República will coincide in date and route with the demonstration organized by user platforms Dignitat a les Vies and the Xarxa de Plataformes d’Usuaris de Tren de Catalunya. This citizen march will start at 17:00 hours from Estació de França and conclude at Plaça Sant Jaume.

"We do not want scapegoats, we want a radical change in the way infrastructure is managed."

Adrià Ramírez · Spokesperson for the Xarxa de Plataformes d’Usuaris de Tren de Catalunya
The platform organizers have acknowledged contacts with the ANC to achieve a “unitary” mobilization focused on rail transport. The spokesperson for Dignitat a les Vies, Anna Gómez, denounced that the situation in Rodalies has become “unsustainable” after years of structural deficiencies.

"The Government must work and respect the demonstrations and expressions of anger, but our role is not to participate in protests, but to work to solve the problems of the railway service."
