Nearly 16,000 Candidates Vie for 1,325 Public Service Jobs in Catalonia

Selection tests are being held across Barcelona, Girona, Lleida, and Tarragona for various public administration roles.

Nearly 16,000 people are taking exams today for 1,325 public servant positions within the Generalitat de Catalunya, spread across 31 different selection processes.

A total of 15,795 candidates are aiming to become public servants for the Generalitat in various categories, including higher management scale, administrative, auxiliary administrative, diploma, and subordinate staff. The total number of available positions is 1,325.
The examinations are being conducted in a decentralized manner across four Catalan cities. In Barcelona, 10,924 applicants are participating, primarily at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and the faculties of Law, Economics, and Business at the Universitat de Barcelona.
In Girona, 1,567 candidates are taking their exams at the faculty of Economic and Business Sciences or the Faculty of Law at the Universitat de Girona. In Lleida, 1,534 applicants are being tested in the polyvalent buildings or the Centre de Cultura i Cooperació Transfronterera of the Universitat de Lleida.
Finally, in Tarragona, 1,770 individuals are undergoing tests at the Escola Tècnica Superior d'Enginyeria, the Escola Superior d'Enginyeria Química, and the Faculty of Chemistry and Enology of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili.
To ensure the smooth running of the exams, a total of 1,267 Generalitat employees are involved in supervision. Since the beginning of the current legislative term, 16,932 positions have been approved in the public employment offers for the years 2025 and 2026, in addition to the annual calls for selection processes.
