Residents and business owners in the Raval neighborhood of Barcelona have been struggling since July with persistent voltage drops that have damaged elevators and household appliances.

The issues are concentrated in Montserrat, Arc del Teatre, and Santa Monica streets. Affected neighbors, including Sandra Moliner and Isidre Santacreu, report that while the power doesn't always cut out completely, the low voltage ruins electronics and forces local bars to serve warm drinks or close early.
Utility company Endesa has identified the issue as a grid overload, though the specific cause remains unknown. The Barcelona City Council has already granted the necessary permits for urgent network repairs in the Ciutat Vella district to resolve the situation.
