The Platform for the Right to Housing in Poblenou has organized a walk to draw attention to vacant plots designated for public housing, calling for accelerated construction.

The Platform for the Right to Housing in Poblenou on Saturday morning demanded the construction of public housing on currently empty plots in the neighborhood. The organization argues that this is one of the few areas in the city with available space for new social housing developments, yet construction is not proceeding.
"We have had allocated plots for a long time where construction should have already started and tenants should be living, but they remain empty. We want maximum acceleration because it is impossible for the people of the neighborhood to continue living here," stated Joan Maria Soler, president of the Association of Neighbors of Poblenou and a member of the Platform.
To highlight their demands, a walk was organized through some of the neighborhood's plots reserved for public housing. The Poblenou Historical Archive documented the past of these sites and explained their history during the tour. The buildable area and potential number of apartments were also calculated, with these figures displayed on banners hung at the visited lots.
This protest walk is one of the central events of the Week for the Right to Dignified Housing. The Platform has identified a total of 13 plots, which are documented on an interactive map that also explains their history, thanks to the work of the Poblenou Historical Archive.
