The City Council of Lleida will install a bust in memory of the Catalan economist and politician Ernest Lluch in the municipal gardens that bear his name, in the Instituts-Sant Ignasi neighborhood.

The mayor of Lleida, Fèlix Larrosa, announced that the sculpture, a replica of the piece from the Congress of Deputies, will be commissioned to the Julio López Sculpture Workshop and will be unveiled next November.
The piece will be placed in one of the lawn areas of this green space, commemorating the role of Lluch, who died in the year 2000, as a promoter of public healthcare.
The mayor, accompanied by the first deputy mayor, Begoña Iglesias, and a neighborhood association representative, visited the cleaning and gardening work underway in the gardens.
Tasks include pruning trees and shrubs, cleaning spaces, and repairing the water feature above the decorative mural, which will soon be operational again.
