The railway operator Renfe has resumed service in Catalonia this week with speed limitations at 200 points across the network while Adif completes essential safety maintenance.

The measures come amid the ongoing crisis following the Adamuz accident in Cordoba on January 18, which resulted in 46 deaths. Transport Minister Óscar Puente stated that the high-speed line between Madrid and Andalusia is expected to reopen this Tuesday or Wednesday.
In Catalonia, authorities expect Rodalies to operate without emergency work restrictions by April. Meanwhile, the PP party is set to launch a parliamentary investigation in the Senate to analyze the state of the Spanish rail infrastructure.

"Huelva is in our hearts, basically because most of the people who lost their lives or are still injured are from that province."

María Jesús Montero · First Vice President of the Government
The judicial investigation into the Adamuz derailment is currently focusing on a broken rail as the potential primary cause of the collision between Iryo and Renfe trains.
