The Catalan Traffic Service anticipates the return of approximately 300,000 vehicles towards the Barcelona area this Monday, coinciding with the return operation for the Second Easter holiday weekend, with particular attention to the AP-7.

The Second Easter holiday weekend is generating intense return activity in the Barcelona metropolitan area. The Catalan Traffic Service estimates that around 300,000 vehicles will be traveling towards the Catalan capital from midday until midnight. This traffic adds to that of drivers who already returned on Sunday.
The AP-7 highway is expected to be one of the most congested routes. This Monday morning, an accident involving a burning truck in Roda de Berà temporarily closed the southbound lanes. Traffic anticipates a high concentration of vehicles on the southern section of the AP-7 between Vilafranca del Penedès and Martorell, as well as on the northern section between Llinars del Vallès and La Roca del Vallès, for which additional lanes will be enabled.
Between 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM, traffic restrictions for trucks will be implemented on the AP-7 in the direction of Barcelona, specifically between Maçanet de la Selva and Banyeres del Penedès.
Other roads expecting significant traffic volume include the C-31 in Santa Cristina d'Aro, the C-65 in Llagostera, the N-2 in Tordera, and the N-340 in Altafulla, Roda de Berà, and El Vendrell. In the Barcelona area, queues are expected in the afternoon on the C-33 and the C-58 entering the city.
A thousand officers from the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan Police) have been deployed during this long weekend to conduct checks on both main and secondary roads. Concern for road safety is at its peak after three people lost their lives in traffic accidents this weekend.
On Sunday, a fatal accident occurred on the A-2 in Jorba (Anoia), resulting in two fatalities due to a collision between a car and a van. On Saturday, a motorcyclist died in El Brull (Osona) after leaving the road.
