Roquetes is preparing to experience eleven intense days of Main Festivals, scheduled from July 2nd to 12th. The designed program combines elements of tradition, culture, and solidarity, with a notable unique feature: the festival's poster and content revolve around the total solar eclipse expected on August 12th, an exceptional astronomical phenomenon.
Among the most significant events are the Gran Cosso-Iris, the proclamation of local 'pubilles' and 'hereus' (traditional festival figures), and the customary +65 Gathering, which will include a solidarity bingo. Additionally, attendees can enjoy astronomy-related activities, such as the talk ‘Roquetes looks at the sky’, and an exhibition with a solidarity purpose. Concerts at the Summer Terrace will round off the entertainment offerings.
The active participation of numerous youth groups ('colles joves') and the presence of major traditional events solidify Roquetes' Main Festivals as a benchmark event in the region. This year, the celebration takes on a special character thanks to its astronomical theme and solidarity focus.
