A technical fault at the Sant Andreu substation caused 90,000 customers in Barcelona to lose power for less than an hour on April 30, 2026.

The incident, which affected a high-voltage line, was detected at 10:21 AM. The number of affected customers quickly decreased to 60,000 by 10:36 AM and then to 49,000 by 11:00 AM.
Service was fully restored by 11:16 AM, as reported by sources from the electricity company. These sources emphasized that, although faults in high-voltage lines affect a large number of customers, their management is simpler due to digitalization and remote control from the command center.
To restore power, the medium-voltage network was used to supply customers. The fault, despite originating in Sant Andreu, had repercussions in other areas of the city, including the Sant Gervasi neighborhood.
