The Sant Gervasi-Galvany district in Barcelona is launching a new cultural cycle featuring free concerts and sardana sessions, filling various neighborhood spaces with music throughout May.

This spring, Barcelona's Sant Gervasi-Galvany neighborhood is introducing a cultural initiative that includes free concerts and sardana gatherings, spread across different venues. The program, running from May 9 to May 31, will transform squares, gardens, and passages into live music stages on weekends.
The project takes over from the previous Can Ferrer activity cycle, but now expands beyond the gardens that gave it its name. The Barcelona City Council has decided to rename it the Sant Gervasi-Galvany cultural activities cycle, reflecting its new phase and the expansion of proposals to various points in the neighborhood.
Despite the changes in name and format, the program's main objective remains: to bring music and sardanas to public spaces through free performances open to all residents.
The program kicked off on Saturday, May 9, with a concert by the Escola de Música Ars Viva in Plaça de Cardona. The following day, Sunday, May 10, the same venue hosted a performance by Sant Gervasi Gospel Friends.
Upcoming events include a concert by the Master of Music Therapy IL3-UB on Saturday, May 16, at the Can Ferrer Gardens, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Sunday, May 17, will feature Virtèlia Escola de Música, also at the Can Ferrer Gardens, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Sardanas will arrive on Sunday, May 24, at Plaça Molina with a performance by the Cobla Rambles starting at 12:00 PM. The program will continue on Saturday, May 30, with the Escola de Música Ritme i So at the Can Ferrer Gardens, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and will conclude on Sunday, May 31, with a concert by the Escola de Música Trémolo in Passatge de Manuela Gil Llopart, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
