Residents and visitors to Barcelona can now plan their Sant Jordi 2026 day, whether to immerse themselves in the heart of the festivities or to avoid crowds. The city will offer a wide array of book and rose stalls, stretching from the city center to all neighborhoods, with new areas and more space for strolling.
The major novelty this year is the expansion of the literary superblock, which will grow towards the sea, reaching the Portal de l'Àngel and the Avenida de la Catedral. Additionally, it will extend beyond Passeig de Gràcia along Gran de Gràcia street. The main perimeter will remain between Avenida Diagonal and Gran Via, and between Balmes and Pau Claris streets, an area completely closed to traffic where hundreds of stalls, author signings, and cultural activities will be concentrated.
Within this pedestrian perimeter, Casa Batlló will once again cover its facade with red roses, a spot that attracts thousands of visitors. It is recommended to plan visits outside peak hours to avoid large crowds.
Although the Eixample attracts most of the public, the Sant Jordi celebration can be experienced in all districts of Barcelona, which will also have reserved spaces for booksellers and florists, offering a more local and less crowded atmosphere. The festive ambiance will begin a day earlier, on April 22, with the setup of stalls by merchants.
Among the highlighted areas to find book and rose stalls by district are: in Ciutat Vella, the Portal de l'Àngel, Avenida de la Catedral, and Passeig Lluís Companys; in the Eixample, Plaça Catalunya, Plaça Universitat, Rambla Catalunya, Passeig de Gràcia, and Passeig Sant Joan; in Sants-Montjuïc, Rambla de Sants; in Les Corts, Avenida Diagonal (sea side, between Joan Güell and Pau Romeva); in Sarrià-Sant Gervasi, Plaça de Sarrià; in Gràcia, Gran de Gràcia and Plaça de la Vila; in Horta-Guinardó, Plaça Eivissa; in Nou Barris, Via Júlia and Plaça Virrei Amat; in Sant Andreu, Plaça Orfila and Plaça Comerç, and Carrer Segre; and in Sant Martí, Rambla del Poblenou and the vicinity of the Gabriel García Márquez Library.
