The Private Foundation of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, as part of its Social Action and Research Plan 2027, has allocated funds to two innovative clinical validation projects for digital solutions. These grants aim to improve patient healthcare. The third call for proposals received 14 applications, and the Evaluation Committee selected the two winning projects in September.
The first project, titled “SMART OFFLOAD Pathway: clinical validation of a digital offloading prescription pathway in diabetes mellitus-related foot disease”, led by Ana Isabel Palma and Diana Tundidor from the Endocrinology Service, receives €49,000.00. This project, driven by the Diabetic Foot Program, will validate a digital care pathway to personalize offloading treatments for high-risk patients, integrating clinical and biomechanical assessment, prescription, and monitoring to prevent complications such as infection or amputation.
The second project, “Evaluation of the impact of the MomCare program on cardiovascular risk markers in the postpartum period”, led by Dr. Elisa Llurba, Director of the Gynecology and Obstetrics Service, receives €35,650.00. This project will assess the effect of the MomCare program, a group intervention supported by a mobile application, on cardiovascular risk markers in postpartum women, particularly those with high-risk obstetric history.
Both initiatives will be supported by the Digital Health Validation Center.
